Abuse & Takedown

Last updated: June 2026

This is a draft for review and is not yet legally binding; it is pending review by qualified counsel.

This policy explains how to report illegal or abusive content hosted on OpenHost and how we handle such reports. It is the counterpart to our Acceptable Use Policy.

1. Reporting abuse

To report illegal content, security abuse, spam, malware or phishing, or intellectual-property infringement on a site we host, email abuse@openhost.one. We monitor this address and confirm receipt of valid reports.

2. What to include (so we can act fast)

Please include the exact URL(s); a description of the content or conduct and why it is illegal or violates our Acceptable Use Policy; your name and contact email; and a statement that your report is accurate and made in good faith. Anonymous reports are accepted but are harder to action.

3. How we handle reports

We review valid notices in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner. Depending on severity we may notify the customer and request remediation, restrict or suspend the content or account, or remove access. We act expeditiously on credible reports of illegal content and on confirmed malware or phishing.

4. Fast-track (no prior notice)

For child sexual abuse material, content depicting or facilitating serious harm, incitement to violence or terrorism, or active phishing or malware endangering the public, we may suspend or remove content immediately and without prior notice, and report it to the relevant authorities or hotlines where required.

5. Copyright (notice & counter-notice)

Send infringement notices to abuse@openhost.one with: identification of the work; the infringing URL(s); your contact details; a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are (or represent) the rights-holder; and your signature.

We remove or disable access expeditiously and notify the customer, who may submit a counter-notice. If they do, we may restore the content after [10–14] business days unless the complainant initiates legal action.

6. EU notice-and-action

This address is our mechanism for reporting allegedly illegal content. We notify the affected customer of any action taken and provide a statement of reasons, and we explain how to contest a decision through us.

7. Designated contacts

Abuse: abuse@openhost.one. Legal: legal@openhost.one [+ register a DMCA agent if relying on US §512]. Data protection: dpo@openhost.one / privacy@openhost.one.

8. Misuse & cooperation

Knowingly false reports may be disregarded or acted on. We cooperate with lawful requests from courts and competent authorities and may preserve relevant logs.

9. Records

We keep records of takedown actions for our own diligence and for any transparency reporting that applies.
